The architectural history of towns and cities

A case study of architectural styles in Skipton

Architecture began as simple buildings constructed by everyday people; these buildings became more complex and grander in scale throughout time. Four key architectural styles will be explored within this report to demonstrate these changes; vernacular, classical, gothic, and modernist. The report will highlight identifying elements that link four featured buildings to these architectural styles.
